Cirrus builds two of the most popular piston singles in the world — the SR20 and the SR22. Both share the same safety-forward design and CAPS whole-airframe parachute, but they suit different missions. Here's how they compare.
The SR20
Lower horsepower and a lower operating cost make the SR20 a capable, economical trainer and traveler — ideal if budget and efficiency top your list.
The SR22
With around 310 horsepower, higher cruise speed, greater useful load, and (in turbo form) high-altitude capability, the SR22 is the choice for pilots who want maximum performance. It's the aircraft in our Turbo Cirrus fleet.
Which should you train in?
If you plan to own or fly a high-performance Cirrus, training in the SR22 from day one means you never have to transition later — see our Turbo Cirrus Private Pilot course. Try one on a luxury discovery flight or call (818) 399-9905.
